Upcountry Man Astounded by Maui AI Program in Development

AI RENDERING: Image that the new MauiLM artificial intelligence program delivered for Kirby Moeuhane of Makawao this week.

An Upcountry man says he is absolutely shocked that a new Maui-focused artificial intelligence program perfectly portrayed his dream vehicle if he suddenly found himself wealthy.

Kirby Moeuhane of Makawao was among the first beta testing volunteers for the fledgling MauiLM artificial intelligence (AI) app, being developed at a mysteriously hidden property outside of north Kihei.

“I was blown away at the image MauiLM provided, all within a minute,” said Moeuhane, 43. “I mean, everything I ever dreamed that could be on my vehicle was included, right down to the rack in front for my two-wheeler for off-road riding up here.”

Moeuhane said he was asked to type in a prompt to see how MauiLM would react. He typed in, “My dream vehicle if Hawaii allowed gambling and Kirby Moeuhane won the lottery.”

“That's all I wrote,” he said. “Apparently this AI thingy scoured the internet and online records to see what really was on my mind over a lifetime. Kinda scary, actually, but I’m way happy to have the image. I always wondered.”

Moeuhane said the developers of MauiLM, Invasive Science North of Kihei, LLP, also known as ISNoK, asked him to delay trying another prompt, until they carefully analyze the Maui Upcountry dream vehicle response.

Maui Insight reached out to ISNoK for comment but had not received a response by Saturday’s press time.

The big question, according to Maui Insight editors, is what Moeuhane would try as the next prompt.

“I’d ask why so many traffic safety cones on Maui, of course,” he said. “Followed by, do OGG speed bumps have to be so painful?”
