The break was reported early today, stopping water service in Kihei until at least 5:30 p.m. today, the Department of Water Supply announced.
The water outage affects over 150 homes and businesses, and 200 fire hydrants, water department officials said.
The trouble spot, on Auhana Road, involves a 30-inch transmission pipeline.
Affected Area
The area impacted includes:
Both lanes of Kanakanui Road between Auhana Road and Alanui Keali`i Drive will be closed during assessment and repair.
Residents can fill water containers during the outage via a water tanker at Kanakanui Road, across from Kamali`i Elementary School.
Residents and business owners should be aware that upon water service restoration, properties might experience brown-colored water. To address this, flush waterlines by running faucets for a little while prior to using the water.

Someone overheard Bisson saying “it’s ok to park them by the side of the road, someone will burn it soon and then it can be a planter and a place for vines to grow”
🤣
Why aren’t the parts replacement available taken into account when we originally purchased the buses? This would be a major negotiating point during research.
