Noticing a lack of aloha in recent months, Maui County officials are turning to a well-known detective firm to come look for it.
“We have acknowledged a decline in aloha on Maui, and were somewhat perplexed, and figured that Pinkerton could investigate,” said Glenn Meanoii, the county’s chief of community and visitor relations.
Pinkerton Consulting, a top investigative and risk management firm dating back to the 19th century, has been placed on a retainer through June 30, the rest of the county’s fiscal year.
An extension is possible pending results of the investigation, and the county’s annual budget process.
“We are confident that we can find where the lost aloha went,” said Joe Pinkerton, vice president of communications for the investigative firm. “The island is not that big. Our concern is if some bled out to the mainland, and got stuck there.
“Even so, we will find it, and bring it back on island where it belongs.”
